appeal.  California's state officials are supportive of the Judge's ruling and, as a result, apparently will not be pursuing the appeal. The trial, which is being held before the highly controversial military commissions, involves  a Canadian citizen who was taken into custody in Afghanistan. In &lt;i&gt;Holland v.
