The United States Supreme Court has stayed the Texas execution of Hank Skinner. Skinner has been convicted of killing his girlfriend and her sons. The family members of the victims were on their way to view the execution at the time Skinner received the last minute stay. Skinner is requesting that DNA evidence be reviewed to determine if he was, in fact, guilty.
It must be noted that the stay does not guarantee that Skinner will grant the relief he is seeking. It is possible that he will still face execution.
